NR Barton, Wigan

Recently they decided to relocate from their existing disjointed, cellular offices and wanted a completely different way of working. Open, collaborative and fresh. The main brief was to try and make this large open-plan space feel like a series of smaller spaces. This was done by angling the desk pods, leaving pockets of space for collaboration furniture. Acoustic hanging panels from Autex and space dividing storage from Allermuir also helped to differentiate between the teams as well as the Partner corners – all of whom sacrificed a private office to lead by example and work in the open plan with their teams. Bringing the outside in was important to NR Barton on this canal side office and InLeaf’s planters, moss wall frames and hanging decorative plants really brought nature inside. The colour scheme on The Senator Group’s soft furniture reflects the brand colours but softer and more natural, introducing some terracotta and earthy yellow to complement the brand greens and blues. The glass screen toppers to the desks have minimal visual impact but are a necessity in this socially distanced current way of working.
