One Manchester are more than just a landlord. They have one vision – to create inclusive, connected, and sustainable places where people can thrive and live well. They strive to provide good quality homes, great services, and real opportunities for customers and communities.
The Brief —
We needed to understand what was/wasn’t working through a colleague survey. It is through this engagement that we could help people feel heard but also start challenging the thinking around what an office could be. The task was to improve the setting, provide a new way of working but also attract people back into the office. This was right in the depths of COVID late 2020 early 2021 and while some people were very comfortable at home, others were struggling. For some it was just technology related but for a lot of people it was space related, getting that work/life balance, socialising with or even just meeting their colleagues for the first time. One Manchester is all about community and people, so the design really needed to be people focussed, aspiring to create and develop a One Manchester culture.
The Result —
The resulting design of the Ground and First Floor of Lovell House created dynamic agile work spaces; spaces which flex and adapt to the requirements of the ‘new way of working’. Designed into the space are settings for focus, collaboration, screen based activities, digital meetings, in person meetings and team based activities – all of which adapt to each induvial person or team’s working style. Aside from the functionality and practicality of the new settings, an injection of personality, brand identity, colour, texture and greenery all energise the office space making it a pretty spectacular place to work!
